HELISET HÁLE was first held in 2013 as a means of raising awareness of Suicide Prevention, Mental
Health and Wellness in the Vancouver Island region.
It has now become an annual relay, over a two-week period, just under 900 kilometers for a team of
runners. But it’s so much more than that. It’s a community event on Vancouver Island — unifying
every community from Port Hardy to Victoria as we rally together to share the concern of Suicide
Prevention, Mental Health and Wellness.
The team stops in various schools and First Nation communities to share words of encouragement and
to bring healing to those that have lost.
We look forward to moving together as a team to make a difference in the schools and communities
that we visit.
