• Increase early intervention with at Risk youth

  • Reengaging Ministry of Children and Families high risk youth team and created a working partnership
  • Partnership with Restorative Justice
• Promote and participate in collaborative responses to homelessness, addiction and mental Health

  • Provided a liaison officer for Pacifica Housing to manage aspects of homelessness, addiction, mental health and building partnerships with health professionals for at risk residents 
  • Adopted best practices from other jurisdictions in respect of attending mental health calls
• Reduce property Crime

  • Created a Crime Analyst position 
  • Liaising with businesses for their perspective, reiterated importance of reporting crimes
  • Wrapped electrical boxes to deter graffiti
  • Increased uniform presence at high-risk businesses to deter shoplifting
• Enhance Crime reduction strategies and demonstrate support to community problem solving

  • Working with Parks Dept to identify overnight campers to enforce bylaws
  • Participation in Repeat Violent Offending Intervention Initiative (ReVOII) and Provincial Tactical Enforcement Priority (PTEP)
  • Partnership with Capital Regional District Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Team
  • Reestablishing a Block Watch program in the community
  • Secured grant funding to enhance response to potential gang activity and organized crime/drug trafficking
  • Lead the creation of a Regional Child Exploitation Unit
