This September our two newest police constables, Ritchie Li and Davis Bawtinheimer, were sworn-in in front of family, friends and colleagues.

Cst. Li with Chief Les Sylven

Ritchie comes to us as an experienced police officer, having served with the RCMP for thirteen years in Kelowna and most recently in Sidney/North Saanich.  He holds a bachelor of Arts degree and is currently working towards a certificate in Police Leadership and Management through Dalhousie University.  In addition to his local knowledge of Central Saanich and an established camaraderie with our members, Ritchie’s experience in interview techniques, advanced water transport, firearms and field recruit training makes him a valuable asset to our team.

Davis grew up in Campbell River on Vancouver Island. He graduated from UVic with a bachelor of Commerce degree and went on to run a business in the Lower Mainland for six years. He has traveled extensively, including a ten month round-the-world-trip.   Davis is fluent in Spanish and is proficient in French as well.  He is an avid surfer and beach volleyball player and is thrilled to be pursuing a lifelong interest in policing. Davis is currently in training at the Justice Institute of BC in New Westminster.

Please help us welcome Ritchie and Davis to our team. We are extremely happy to have them!
